Celebrity talk show host Oprah Winfrey and television personality Gayle King share a nearly 50-year friendship and have a close-knit relationship that is often called legendary. The duo celebrated the year end with a gratitude hike and a celebratory loaf of her favorite food: bread.
In a series of Instagram videos posted Sunday, the queen of media documented a 10-mile “gratitude hike” with friends, including her bestie CBS Mornings anchor Gayle King, as a sign of gratitude to bread. In them, the talk show host is dressed in a bubble-gum pink tracksuit and hiking gear, marching up hilly terrain more than a year after knee surgery rendered her immobile.
The television producer, actress, and philanthropist were especially grateful to be able to complete the hike one year after having knee surgery. She shared a video clip where she calls out from the top of the mountain, inhaling the fresh air and greenery around her. “So, we made it to the top,” the media mogul said, appreciating nature all around her.
In the last leg of her climb, the billionaire media personality is seen relishing her recovery and accomplishment, singing, “With every breath that I’m able, I’m going to sing the goodness of God.” she sings, relishing her recovery and accomplishment.”
The Color Purple star reached her goal and celebrating the climb, she revealed that she loves bread and would have a “bread picnic” after reaching the summit.

In another video, Oprah showed her friend Gayle, who appeared to be exhausted and out of breath, and they were seen teasing each other.
Winfrey has recently expressed an abundance of gratitude. She took to social media over the weekend to pay tribute to the late television journalist Barbara Walters, whom she credits with inspiring her own media career more than three decades ago. Fans are super excited.
Recently, Gayle shared a slideshow of images of herself celebrating with her CBS Mornings colleagues, family, and friends. The pictures included BFF Oprah Winfrey and boyfriend Steadman Graham as well. The “biggest surprise,” according to King, came from The Temptations, who sang “My Girl” and wished her for her birthday dressed in matching yellow suits.
Gayle King recently shared with the world how her longtime friend Oprah Winfrey assisted her during her divorce from her ex-husband William Bumpus. On iHeart Podcast’s Now What? the 67-year-old CBS Mornings host stated that her bestie was one of the first people she talked to about her husband’s infidelity.
According to the celebrity host, Oprah is the “best therapist” as she has “never been married or had children.” She also feels that Oprah would be a therapist if the media mogul had a second career.
