On Tuesday, Wisconsin woman Taylor Schabusiness, charged with decapitating her lover during a reportedly meth-fueled incident last year, attacked her own attorney in the courtroom. She punched him in the head after his request for a postponement of the case.
Following the judge’s suggestion to postpone the trial by two months in the horrifying murder case, the 25-year-old lunged at defense lawyer Quinn Jolly. A shocking video shows Schabusiness sitting calmly in the courtroom in Green Bay as Judge Thomas J. Walsh suggests starting the murder trial on May 15 rather than March 6. Then she is seen flinging herself at the lawyer who was seated next to her, striking him with her elbows and handcuffed wrists, appearing to be incensed by his choice.

The altercation reportedly started when a witness who was supposed to testify regarding Schabusiness’ mental state did not arrive. The chaotic video then shows a security guard quickly tackling Schabusiness to the ground. Schabusiness eventually has her toes in the struggle.

While attempting to speak to the 25-year-old calmly, two additional sheriff’s deputies could be seen approaching to tackle the woman. According to the Gazette, a woman who supported Schabusiness made an effort to calm the defendant down. Together, they were able to calm Schabusiness down and lead her outside by placing her up against a door. About ten minutes after the assault, the case was finally called back to court, and Jolly informed the judge that he would be filing a motion to be dismissed as Schabusiness’ attorney.

It is alleged that Schabusiness beheaded Thyrion during sex and then continued to engage in sexual activity with his lifeless body while mutilating it with a serrated bread knife. The victim’s mother found her son’s severed head in a bucket and other body parts in a crock pot at her house, according to the prosecution. At the scene, police discovered evidence of drug use, including a glass pipe and a bag containing white powder.
Schabusiness is charged with first-degree homicide, mutilating a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault. She has entered a plea of not guilty based on a mental defect or illness.
