The dates of Celine Dion‘s international tour will change as she shares additional health information. In a moving Instagram video posted on Thursday, the singer revealed that she had stiff person syndrome, a neurological condition. The singer claimed that the symptoms are what have previously been causing her to experience severe muscle spasms.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, Stiff Person Syndrome, also known as SPS, is a condition that results in “progressive muscle stiffness and painful spasms” that are brought on by external triggers such “sudden movement, cold temperature, or unexpected loud noises.”
Only one in a million persons are thought to be affected by the condition, making it unusual.
’I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through…It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.” – Céline
Dion noted that because of the diagnosis, her tour’s European leg won’t be able to resume in February. The events she had planned for the summer have been canceled, while the ones for the spring have been moved to 2024.
