After former President Trump posted the address of former President Obama’s DC residence on Truth Social, according to prosecutors, a defendant targeted the house on January 6. Federal prosecutors claimed on Wednesday that a defendant on January 6 started live streaming close to former President Barack Obama’s alleged private residence in Washington, DC, immediately after he tweeted the location that former President Donald Trump had shared.
Taylor Taranto shared Trump’s message on his own Truth social account, according to the prosecution. Taylor Taranto, 37, a resident of Washington state, was apprehended by Secret Service officers on June 29 in the Kalorama district of Washington, D.C., according to court documents. He was wanted for allegedly taking part in the Jan. 6 incidents.
In a post that reposted a 2017 newsletter written about Trump’s first 100 days in office under the late conservative Phyllis Schlafly’s name, Trump provided what appeared to be Obama’s address. The newsletter bemoaned the existence of a “shadow” government in Washington, DC, and noted that the Obamas had chosen to remain there after leaving the White House.
