King Charles III thanked all his global fans for the well wishes they had sent. The Palace has released photos of the monarch reading the letters and more. The Friday photos are the first ones of the 75-year-old king after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Buckingham Palace said that King Charles had received over 7,000 cards and letters from web fans worldwide. The photos shared on social media show him reading some of the cards and images of the cards with the caption, “To everyone who took the time to write, THANK YOU. As His Majesty has said, ‘Such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement.”

King Charles III also mentioned his feelings about the messages he had received when he spoke to British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during a meeting. He said the letters “reduced me to tears most of the time.” However, the cards that King Charles is reading in the photos posted on social media seem to have brought a smile to his face.

A thank you message from His Majesty The King

The palace said that the king was given a selection of cards and letters to read each day.

Although the public was informed about the cancer diagnosis of King Charles, no details about the type of cancer or the stage have been shared by the palace. However, the palace said that the king could not fulfill his public-facing duties while undergoing cancer treatments, as per the instructions of his doctors.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have retired to their Sandringham estate, in Norfolk, after the cancer diagnosis. They travel to London for his treatment.

King Charles deals with correspondence and similar duties from his Norfolk estate. He was seen in public on February 11, when he attended church with his wife, Queen Camilla.
