King Charles III will be hospitalized next week, and many wonder who will stand in for the monarch. Rules say that working members of the royal family can be called on to act as Counsellors of State. Royal experts say Princess Anne and Prince Edwards are the most likely candidates. The Princess of Wales Kate Middleton was also hospitalized recently and is expected to resume royal duties after Easter.

Buckingham Palace released a statement about King Charles’s visit to a hospital in the next few days. It said, “In common with thousands of men yearly, the King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is benign, and he will attend the hospital next week for a corrective procedure. The King’s public engagements will be postponed for a short recovery period.”

It is known that the king publicly shared his condition as he wanted men to check the health of their prostrate and get treated if necessary.

The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic earlier on Tuesday. She underwent a surgical procedure on her abdomen. This was a planned surgery.

Kensington Palace shared an update on the Princess’s health. It said that the “surgery was successful” and that Princess Kate would “remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days.”

The social media post also said that it was unlikely that she would “return to public duties until after Easter.”

Prince William had canceled engagements to be beside his wife, Kate, after her surgery. He will also care for their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Many web fans posted get-well messages for Princess Kate and best wishes for King Charles on his upcoming hospitalization.
